Overview

The NJ CTE Graphic Design Program is part of the Visual Arts Pathway of the Arts, A/V Technology and Communications Career Cluster Visual Arts Pathway (AR-VIS) established by the New Jersey Department of Education’s Office of Career Readiness, formerly the Office of Career and Technical Education.

is a model that aligns secondary and postsecondary
education to labor market demand, and provides students with the technical, academic and employability knowledge and skills they need for success. This particular program of study is designed to prepare high school students for success in the graphic design field and related visual arts pathways. The program is designed to prepare students looking to enter the job market or continue their education.

Curriculum

Students at Work picThe curriculum was developed with input from industry professionals, as well as administrators and educators from secondary and post-secondary schools throughout NewJersey. Projects were developed based on the model of Project-Based Learning. Projects incorporate and align with New Jersey Curriculum Standards and competencies set forth by the Graphic communications industry.
